Just Swingin'

What a HAPPY DAY it was! It was such a beautiful day outside we couldn't resist a little swing time! Makayla was unsure of it at first bit it didn't take long to get a giggle out of her!
Here is the proof! LOL

New Slippers...

We have hardwood floors in our house and we all have slippers...well, except for Makayla! It was time to go out and do a little shopping for the PERFECT slippers!!! We were successful and she LOVES her new slippers. She can put them on and off herself and they also have traction so she doesn't slip on these floors. I cannot even count the times she would stop, point at her slippers and SMILE!!! Shopping therapy works for any age! LOL...and a game of Patty Cake!

Oh, how we are in love with this little girl!!! She makes all of our hearts smile!

Meeting Gma Barbara & Gpa Dan...

My Mom and her husband, Dan came for a visit to meet the newest addition!! Makayla had fun playing with Grandma's clip on earrings, snacking on oranges, building castles with mega blocks, stuffing blocks up Grandpa's pant leg, and wearing the new hat they bought her (it came with a summer dress too)! Thank you for the dress and hat...I think she especially loved the hat!

Meeting Aunti Debi...

My sister and her family came to visit us today and meet their new niece and Marcus got to meet his new cousin! Marcus was so sweet...they were getting ready to make the long car ride to our house and he just had to go through his stuffed animal to give some to Makayla. He chose a pink dolphin, green frog and a purple dog.
Makayla warmed up to Aunti Debi really fast! They had some fun tickle-hugging time!
Thank you Marcus, Makayla loved them all! Also, thank you Aunti Debi and Uncle Bret for the cool rain stick!
Thanks for coming to visit!! Sorry we didn't get any pics of you Bret and Marcus...next time!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Makayla is doing FANTASTIC!!! She is now feeding herself and eating really well. She is always willing to taste new things, but is not afraid to wrinkle up her nose and sign no-no-no while she is shaking her head, I have to admit it is pretty cute! it doesn't always work with Mom though. Sometimes she says NO just by the look...so a little taste has changed her mind most of the time.
This morning after breakfast we opened a little "LOVE" gift from Mom & Dad for Valentine's Day. She was pretty excited to get...wait for it...a PHONE!!! I know you were totally surprised! LOL She also loves to look at herself, so a mirror was only fitting for this and the girl loves jewelery and a set of 3 bracelets was perfect! She seemed pretty excited to open her present and so were the other two kids.

Meeting Gpa Ershal for the first time...

While we were in China, Fonnetta's father, Ershal, had a stroke. We did not even know until the night we flew back into Spokane. The next day we drove to St. Luke's Rehabilitation Center where he is staying to visit with him and see how he really was (phone calls just don't give you the visual). Gpa Ershal and Makayla hit it off beautifully (she loves to be tickled and play peek-a-boo!)

Already a texter...

...thanks to her Jie Jie, Kassi!!! A Blackberry phone might just be in her future!!!

They are bonding pretty well..if nothing else they could have a texting relationship! LOL

WE ARE HOME...

...and it feels soooooooo good!!!! We had an amazing time in China and our little Makayla is bonding beautifully!
Here is our "WELCOME HOME" group!!! Thank you everyone for being there for us! It was FABULOUS to have such a great bunch of friends and our Kassi to be waiting with signs, hugs, and tears! Special "THANKS" to my friend Tamara Flippen for the pictures of our return!

I cannot believe that we only have ONE FULL DAY left and a half of a night!!!! Then, we are getting in our car to drive to the airport!! This is going to be the journey of a lifetime!!! I feel like I should yell, FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!!!! LOL Thanks so much, I needed that!

Also, we got a unexpected package in the mail today and in it were 6 t-shirts (5 in the picture because we gave Kas hers already) that my BFF, Lisa made for us!!! They are so stinkin' cute! We will be wearing these on our flight home and can't wait to post a picture, when we are all sporting these T's! Until then here is what they look like...

The meaning of the tee's is adorable too...there are 4 ladybugs heading to china, 5 ladybugs coming home, and the 6th ladybug is our oldest daughter Kassi waiting for when we come home!!!! It was so SWEET of her to surprise us with this and I can't wait to match!!! LOL

CHINA-TOURING & ADOPTION TIMELINE

01/14-Leave Spokane -to San Francisco, CA
01/14-Fly to Beijing
01/15-Arrive in BEIJING

01/16-REST and some sight seeing
01/17-Dinner with friends from Hubby's work
01/18-Our Beijing tour BEGINS with Angela

(while my Hubby works)
01/22-Our Beijing tour ENDS with Angela

(Hubby work week over and now he gets to tour too)

GROUP TRAVEL-except we all go to different Provinces on 1/24=)

01/23 - Beijing Tour with group

(Great Wall, Tienanmen Square, Forbidden City)

01/24 - Fly to province-HANGZHOU

01/25 – GOTCHA DAY! The day we get MAKAYLA!!!

~ at some point travel to WENZHOU

to see her orphanage (if they let us) and findings spot

01/29 - Fly to GUANGZHOU

02/03 - Consulate appointment

02/04 - Oath-taking ceremony

02/05 - Pick up passport with visa

02/05 - take train to HONG KONG

02/06 – FLY HOME arive 2:26 pm

We FINALLY got our American Consulate appointment today!

It is for February 3, 2010!!!



We bought our tickets this morning and we actually leave on Thursday, January 14, 2010 and our GOTCHA DAY is January 25, 2010. I will post more later as I am off to PACK!!!!!
